The underground world remains to be one of the most mysterious and unexplored habitats on Earth. Scientists assume that first animals used to build nests and caves underground as early as 45-35 million years ago. Apart from the lack of oxygen and sunlight, adding “cramped” habitat, there have to be strong advantages to make animals want to live below the surface. What are they?
Discover the environment of subterranean fauna - animals adapted to living underground. Find out how and why they build complex caves with multiple tunnels, chambers, “toilets” and storage rooms. What are the reasons for building below surface constructions that motivate birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals.
You will also be surprised by the variety of instruments used by animals to build such complex structures.
The exhibition will traditionally be accompanied by educative programs specifically designed to fit all generations – from children to adults.
